International Exchange

The C. F. Koo Foundation actively promotes the preservation and advancement of Chinese culture through diverse international exchange initiatives, highlighting Taiwan's cultural appeal on the global stage.

*Peking Opera Promotion*

In 1991, the Foundation established the Peking Opera Promotion Group. Under the leadership of Executive Director Vivien Ku, the Foundation has collaborated with renowned Peking Opera artist Li Bao-Chun and other industry elites to present numerous classic productions. These performances have not only toured extensively throughout Taiwan but have also reached international audiences across Europe, the United States, Japan, and beyond, promoting Chinese traditional culture globally. Furthermore, the Foundation is dedicated to fostering a deep appreciation for the arts by bringing performances to remote schools across Taiwan. In addition, the Foundation organizes large-scale, comprehensive performing arts events to enhance the quality and impact of cultural exchange.

*Taipei Li-Yuan Peking Opera Theatre*

n 1997, the Foundation established the Taipei Li-Yuan Peking Opera Theatre, a group comprised of professional young talents from both domestic and international backgrounds, to regularly present Li Bao-Chun's Neo-Classical Peking Opera. The group has frequently toured mainland China, participating in prestigious performing arts festivals such as the Shanghai International Arts Festival, China Peking Opera Festival, and Beijing Music Festival. These tours have played a key role in fostering cross-strait cultural exchange and have been met with widespread acclaim. In China, the group's touring partner is China Poly Culture Group and its associated theaters, with both parties working collaboratively to create a thriving environment for cultural exchange between Taiwan and mainland China.

*TaipeiEYE*

A tourist theatre, TaipeiEye, was added to the Koo Foundation productions in 1999, to promote cultural tourism in Taiwan. It now produces over 200 authentic traditional performances each year, including Taiwanese acrobat performances, hand puppets shows, puppets shows, Taiwanese aboriginal songs and dances, and Chinese operas of many a different dialect. TaipeiEye is recognized by Taiwan Tourism Bureau and highly recommended by international tourism organizations.

The Koo Company

In August 2014, the Foundation incorporated the original Novell Hall team, which had 18 years of expertise in performing arts production and venue management, to form The Koo Company. Specializing in performing arts and event production, management, and consultancy, The Koo Company has received numerous accolades, including the Ministry of Culture's Wen-Hsin Special and Gold Awards, as well as being voted Best Theatre Service in Taipei City. In 2011, it was honored by the Taipei City Department of Cultural Affairs, with its location being named "Novell Hall Lane."

The Koo Company is also dedicated to cultivating theater talent, offering annual front-of-house recruitment and backstage technical training programs, thereby contributing to the growth of professional theater personnel across Taiwan.
